UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides medical grants to help children gain access to health-related services not covered, or not fully covered, by their family’s commercial health insurance plan. Applicants don’t have to be members of UnitedHealthcare to apply.

We’re united in helping kids

UHCCF’s mission is made possible by contributions from individuals, corporations, and UnitedHealth Group employees. Since 2005, we’ve been able to award more than 37,000 grants valued at over $75M to children and their families throughout the United States. These grants help enhance children’s clinical conditions and quality of life.

More about UHCCF

The foundation’s National Board of Directors has adopted bylaws, policies and procedures for the regulation of the activities of the foundation and its Regional Board of Directors.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Policies and procedures related to the review and evaluation of applications.
  • The acceptance or rejection of grant applications by the Regional Board of Directors.
  • The adherence of the foundation to all regulatory requirements.

The National Executive Director will administer these policies and procedures and report the Foundation’s compliance with them to the National Board of Directors.

Based out of Frederick, Maryland, the foundation was originally incorporated as the “MAMSI Children’s Foundation” in 1999 as a local charity. Following the acquisition of MAMSI in 2006 by UnitedHealthcare, the foundation was renamed the “UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation” (UHCCF) and established as a nationwide 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
